The Science & Art of Relational pleasure

Where love and sex ripen together.

Our Conviction

More pleasure and intimacy are possible when you know how to ripen.

Our culture treats erotic intimacy as a young couple’s inheritance– it peaks early in the relationship and fades quietly. And we learn that sexual problems are about sex.

None of that is true. We believe erotic intimacy can ripen over time, even in challenging sexual and relational conditions: it can grow more complex, more generous, more honest. Sexual problems, to us, are doorways. But ripening doesn’t happen by accident. It requires skill, attention and a secure bond to grow in.

This is the work of the Institute– teaching couples and clinicians the science and art of ripening inside and outside the bedroom at every stage of relationship.

The Differentiator

Most experts choose one lens. Our work lives at the intersection.

Attachment science tells us how to build relational safety. Erotic development teaches us how to cultivate pleasure in a committed relationship. Tantric wisdom teaches us how to inhabit it all. All together a roadmap emerges that allows couples, even those who feel the most stuck, to grow more pleasure and connection.

Who We Serve

There is a roadmap to ripening for you.

I.

Couples

Seeking

Deeper intimacy, better communication, healing after rupture, and erotic vitality that grows rather than fades. You don’t need to be in crisis — you need to be curious.

II.

Clinicians

Seeking

Better clinical tools, advanced training, and consultation for the moments talk therapy can’t reach — especially where sexuality enters the room.

III.

Media & Stages

Seeking

Expert voices on attachment, sexuality, and the erotic lifespan — for podcasts, keynotes, and publications that want substance over soundbites.

The Founders

Two clinicians. Decades of practice. One shared conviction.

Dr. Karen Berry – psychologist, Tantra practitioner and teacher, and member of the original PACT core faculty – and Caroline Russell Smith – clinical social worker, PACT couple therapist, and AASECT certified sex therapist — have spent their careers in rooms where love and sex struggle and grow. The Institute is where their work becomes one.
